is a fashion redesigner
born in USSR and based in Amsterdam.
While studying in Amsterdam Fashion Institute Katja R found her fascination with slow-paced and labor-intensive production, powered by mistakes, gut feeling, human hands, and reinvented crafts.
The redesigner questions fashion values and the very idea of beauty. Katja R tries to minimize global waste by taking the found materials and objects out of the context, clashing and collaging them, adding a pinch of handcraft and turning them into one-off works of art.
The goal is to demonstrate the endless possibilities of manpower and to encourage people to create.
